Pawsitive Canine Training Demo

& Glen Martinez Foundation

The San Diego weather sure cooperated with us this last Saturday – we could not have asked for a more beautiful day to host the first Pawsitive Canine gathering of 2009. We had a fantastic turnout – both existing clients and potential students joined us to eat hotdogs and hamburgers and socialize with our canine companions.

As the first fundraising event for the newly established Glen Martinez Foundation, we quickly learned that the public is empathetic to our mission. For those of you who are not yet familiar with the Glen Martinez Foundation, please let me explain: In honor of Sgt. Glen Martinez, this foundation has been established in order to provide a safe, loving home to the dogs of active military member’s who have been deployed to other countries. Last year, while in the process of training their dogs with Chad, Melissa & Glen Martinez were both deployed to Iraq. I offered to care for their dogs until they could safely return, however fate had other plans. While performing his tour, Sgt. Glen Martinez was killed in the line of duty. Since that horrible news, I have devoted myself to finding a way to offer free-of-charge kenneling to the dogs of our soldiers, making sure that there is one less thing for them to worry about while they are over-seas protecting our freedom. You see, it is only together that we can ensure that no dog goes without while their soldier is away doing what they do best – protecting us.

I am pleased to announce that the first fundraising attempt was successful, though we know that we have a long way to go. We would be eternally grateful for any monetary donation, as well as bedding, food and toys!!

We do plan on hosting another event soon – so please keep checking back with us for news. Please tell your friends and family about the wonderful Pawsitive Canine Family – we would LOVE to see you and your furry friends at our next get-together!

All my best~
